GAMSAT - Medical School Entrance Examination

Gamsat-score
The graduate-entry programs provide opportunities for medical, dental,  pharmacy and optometry training to a wide range of graduates who have made a mature decision to commit to a demanding profession. The Graduate Australian Medical School Admissions Test (GAMSAT) has been developed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) in conjunction with the Consortium of Graduate Medical Schools to assist in the selection of students to participate in the graduate-entry programs.  GAMSAT is designed to assess the capacity to undertake high level intellectual studies in a demanding course.
We begin by making available online lessons about argumentative/expository essay writing and reflective/discursive essay writing with excerpts from The Gold Standard GAMSAT textbook. The lessons from the book (available online with this program) provide you with a clear formula to respond to both Writing Task A and Writing Task B. You will also have 50 exercises to perform. Each exercise or practice question will be linked to a Forum so that you can share opinions. Additionally, you will get to read corrected and graded essays from students so you will know what to expect. At this point, you will be ready to practice yourself.?The earlier you begin this program, the better. You can do the last 4 essays in the final 2-3 weeks prior to your exam date; however, honing your skills long in advance would certainly be to your advantage.
A medical school interview is reproduced live in HD on campus in front of a group of premed students - most of whom were invited for medical school interviews. A volunteer is interviewed in front of the class and the entire interview is conducted as if it were the real thing. Ambiguous questions, ethical questions, pauses, interruptions and other elements are created by an experienced interviewer and author (The Gold Standard). After the interview, an analysis of each question and the mindset behind it is discussed in an open forum format.

GAMSAT - Confedence Building Study Guide

Gamsat-score
GAMSAT preparation is a crucial step for any student to enter into the world of medical science. Students who are serious about entering into the world of medical science must be very systematic in their approach. The GAMSAT is physically draining and it is in your best interest to be well rested when you take it. On the night before the exam, try to get a good night sleep. Eat breakfast! It will make it possible for you to have the food energy needed to go through the first two parts of the exam. Pack a light lunch. Avoid greasy food that will make you drowsy. You do not want to feel sleepy for the afternoon. Do not study at lunch or only review your Gold Notes. You need the time to recuperate and rest. Eat, avoid the people discussing the test sections and relax! Avoid sugar-packed snacks as they will cause a "sugar low" eventually and will also make you drowsy. A chocolate bar or other sweet highly caloric food could, however, be very useful in the last section when you may be tired. The `sugar low' will hit you only after you have completed the exam when you do not have to be awake!
Avoid last minute cramming. On the morning of the exam, do not begin studying ad hoc. You will not learn anything effectively, and noticing something you do not know or will not remember might reduce your confidence and lower your score unnecessarily. Just get up, eat a good breakfast and go write the exam.

GAMSAT - Important Notes To Follow

Gamsat-score

Useful tips for GAMSAT preparation

When you prepare for the GAMSAT, the first thing you should know is that you must fully complete the questionnaire within the given time frame. No question should be left unanswered. There is no concept of right or wrong and you will not be penalized for giving an incorrect answer. It is strongly recommended to practice with GAMSAT preparation in order to get a feel for time.
Another important suggestion for GAMSAT preparation is when you are faced with a difficult question, it is advised to skip to the next question and deal with it last. When you come back on the difficult questions later on, you must answer it to the best of your knowledge, despite not being 100% sure of your answer.
